1764 is when Rene A. Choteau who was 15 at the time , he found St. Louis. 1673 is when Marquette and Jolliet explore the Mississippi River.1803 is when the United States bought all of Louisiana territory for $15,000,000 from France. 1861 was when the Civil War split the state. Most Missourians wanted their state to remain the Union. The union quickly gained control of Missouri. 1904 is when the World Fair  was in St. Louis. People there displayed modern technology from other countries. 1965 was when the Gateway Arch isn't  St. Louis was built. 1945- Missourian Harry Truman becomes president of the United States.

Kathleen Turner was born in Springfield, MO. She was in many movies.

 Walt Disney lived in Kansas City in 01901-1966. Walt Disney 

J.C. Penny founded the department store, store J.C. Penny. He lived in Hamilton, Missouri in 1875-1913. 

Yogi Berra , born in St. Louis was the catcher for the New York Yankees from 1946-1963. Berra holds the reccord for playing in the most World Series.(I4)

Laura Ingalls Wilder lived in Mansfield Missouri. She wrote the Little House book series and other books. Mansfield is where she wrote some of the were written.

Scott Joplin who developed the ragtime music lived in Missouri too!
He lived in Sedalia.

And one of the most famous Missourians is Harry s. Truman. He grew up in Independence, MO. Harry Truman was a U.S. president.

Over half the people in Missouri have service jobs. There are doctors, teachers, salespeople, and car mechanics. Some people operate hotels and resorts. There are others who operate national parks, like park rangers. Plus many more!!! Many of those people enjoy their job. About 20% of of the workers work in factories building cars, truck bodies, boats, or even airplanes! Missouri also butches cows and pigs to sell.
