Speech Parameters for the Cemetery Walk

The following items need to be included in your speech that will be given the day of the cemetery walk.  Speeches need to be memorized with expression.  Practice makes perfect!  Remember that it doesn't have to be memorized but it should be well planned and practiced!

·  Your speech needs to be written in the 1st person.  “I am called Wild Bill although my real name is….”

·  Tell us when you were born.

·  Tell us about your family and where you lived in Illinois.

·  Explain why you are famous and still studied today.

·  What are at least two interesting things about you?

·  When, where and how did you die?

·  Where could the listener go to find out more about your life?  Encyclopedia? Internet?

The talk needs to be in “time order”.  For instance, the last thing I should know is where you died.

Add personality to your speech!  Similes and metaphors help that out!

Have fun becoming your famous Illinois person!
