Northpoint, we will also need proof of residency. Required forms come in two categories. Category A consists of the following (NEED

following (NEED TWO DOCUMENTS): bills (gas, electric, water, phone, cable),
vehicle registration, bank statement, public aid/Medicaid/food stamp card,
paycheck stub, driver’s license/state ID.
Families with students currently enrolled and having already established
proof of residency do not need to meet this requirement. Please call the Northpoint office at 557-4420

Happy New Year! We hope your holidays were wonderful
and relaxing! We are looking forward to a great second half of the school
year at Northpoint. We have a few friendly reminders for everyone as we start the new calendar year:
- School starts at 8:45 am,
students may enter the building at 8:25 am. Students arriving after
this time will be marked tardy and will need to be accompanied to the
office to be signed in by a parent.
- If your child will be late
due to an appointment or will be absent due to illness, etc., PLEASE
call the Northpoint attendance line by 9:30 am.
That number is 309-557-4469. This number can also be found on the
front page of the Northpoint website.
- Speaking of the Northpoint
website, please take a minute to check it out. It is full of lots of
important information. The website is www.Unit5.org/Domain/18.
The site lists lunch and recess times, has a current copy of the
Northpoint newsletter, PTO information and links, along with lots of other
very useful information and links. We work hard to keep this site up
to date, current, and accurate.
- Please remember to be
courteous during pick-up and drop-off times. Cooperation by all is
critical to a smooth operation. During drop off and pick up, please
remember safety of our students is our first priority. With that in
mind, please be patient, carpool when possible, leave early during
inclement weather, and pull all the way around the curb.
Students can exit their cars all along the yellow drop off area,
exiting on the passenger side ONLY. Please do not get out of your
car in the drop off lane, do not park in handicap spots without placard,
and finally, please be courteous and do not cut into the line.
- If your child is sick, they
need to be fever free, without medication, for 24 hours. The same
rule applies if they have diarrhea or are vomiting and should not return
to school until they are symptom-free for 24 hours.
- Please remember that cough
drops containing menthol must be accompanied by a completed Unit 5
self-administration form including the physician’s signature. Citrus
Breezers and Luden’s are types that do not contain menthol and therefore,
do not require the form. Most chapsticks and lip therapy ointments
are allowed to be carried by students and do not require a doctor’s
- The Northpoint newsletter is
a very valuable source of information and you can find the direct link to
the newsletter on the Northpoint website. The newsletter is
published each month and details many happenings and events at Northpoint
- The 2014-2015 yearbooks are
available for purchase! You may order online at www.jostensyearbooks.com or
there are paper forms are available in the office. Don't miss your
only chance to order your yearbook!
