4/17 Cats run-rule Eisenhower

 

 

4/14  West beats Central Catholic 8-0

Jenn Murray fired a one-hitting and struck out 13 in the victory.  Caiti Kopp was 4-5 and Torie Kovanic was 3-5 with 3 RBIs to lead the Wildcat offense.

 

4/5  LaSalle Peru takes two from the Cats

The Wildcats were unable to generate the offense needed and suffered two losses to non-conference opponent LaSalle Peru.

 

4/3  Cats come from behind to beat Richwoods 5-4 in 8 innings

Down 4-2 in the bottom of the 6th inning, the Wildcats pushed one across as Jenna Patrick scored on a Kelsey Jipp sac fly.  To tie the game in the 7th, Lauren Harding doubled to score Caiti Kopp with 2 outs.  In the bottom of the 8th, Kopp hit a 2 out double to score Kylie Harp and win the game.  The Cats executed 6 sacrifice bunts (Alex Pflieger 3, Jipp 1, Yeager 1, Kopp 1) to put runners in scoring position and Erin Huddleston struck out 14 to improve her record to 3-0.

4/2  Pflieger leads Cats in win over Pekin

Alex Pflieger was 3 for 3 with 4 RBIs and two doubles to lead the Cats in a 12-1 run-rule victory over Pekin.

 

3/29  Cat sweep Hoffman Estates

In Game 1, Caiti Kopp had 2 hits and 1 RBI and Cymone Allen had 2 doubles and one RBI to lead the Cats to a 4-2 victory over the Hawks.  In Game 2, the Cats punded out 17 hits to win 14-3.  Torie Kovanic was 4 for 5 with 7 RBIs, 1 2B, and 1 HR.  Jenna Patrick had 3 hits, while Kelly Leake had 2 hits and 2 RBIs, and Kylie Harp had 2 hits and 1 RBI.

 

3/26  West takes one from East Peoria

Erin Huddleston was 3 for 3 with one double to lead the Cats in a 3-1 victory over East Peoria.

 

3/24  Bats are hot in win over Washington

The Cats scored 6 runs on 12 hits in a 6-0 win over Washington.  Jenn Murray struck out 14 and was 2 for 3 at the plate with 2 doubles.  Other standouts were Caiti Kopp (3 for 4), Torie Kovanic (3 for 4, 4 RBIs, 2 2Bs, 1 HR), and Erin Huddleston (2-4, 1 RBI).

 

3/22  West splits with Morton

In Game 1, Jenn Murray struck out 12 and Caiti Kopp was 2-4 with 2 RBIs, but the Cats fell short, suffering a 2-3 loss.  In Game 2, Lauren Harding (3 for 4, 1 RBI) and Cymone Allen (2 for 3) led the Cats at the plate as West won 7-6.

 

3/20  West wins opening game vs Metamora

Lauren Harding drove in two runs to lead the Cats in a 6-4 win over Metamora.

West was unable to fight through the rain and cold as they opened up their season Thursday, March 24th at Metamora.  The Redbirds managed to tough the rain and cold, beating the Cats 12-0 in 5 innings.
