Wildcats lose to the Tigers

The Normal West Wildcats lost to the Urbana Tigers 12-7 to drop their overall record to 12-7.  On a comfortable, sunny day in Urbana, the Wildcats fell behind early and could not catch up.

After falling behind 9-1, the Wildcats got three runs in the 5th inning when Brandon Herzog led off with a single, Adam Seifert followed with a double, Kyle Vaughn reached on an error and Erik Sipes singled.  The Wildcats also got three runs in the 7th inning when Sipes led off with a walk followed by Trey Rogers taking a hit batter, Brandon Zwaga singling, Adam Seifert singling and Kyle Vaughn getting a base hit.  Adam Seifert and Brandon Herzog led the Wildcats with two hits apiece.

Trey Rogers started on the mound for the Wildcats and went 3 2/3 innings, allowing 6 runs on 4 hits with a strikeout and 2 walks.  Adam Seifert pitched the last 2 1/3 innings, giving up 6 runs on 8 hits with a strikeout and no walks.

The Wildcats get the day off tomorrow, as many will journey over to O'Brien Field in Peoria to see the Varsity Wildcats play crosstown rival Normal Community.  The Wildcats return to action on Friday with a 4:30 matchup at Dunlap.
