4-14-08 vs. Champaign Central Marooons
Wildcats pound the Champaign Central Maroons The Normal West Wildcats returned to action after over week layoff due to poor weather with hot bats and good eyes at the plate in a 21-7 win. The win ups the Wildcats record to 5-2. Kevin Henkels pitched four strong innings, allowing only two runs on one hit and three walks. He struck out four Maroons as well. After the Maroons rattled the bats to start the 5th inning off Cody Auer, Jacob Null came on to close out the game with a couple of flyballs, including a great running catch at the wall in left center by Kody Hill to end the game. The Wildcats stroked fourteen hits and drew nineteen walks to plate their twenty-one runs. Jacob Null contributed two hits and three RBI's. Adam Seifert and Zach Boicken had two hits as every batter in the starting lineup had at least one hit. As the Wildcats pulled away in the bottom of the 4th inning, Aarion Gibson and Jake Brown had nice singles as well. The Wildcats return to action tomorrow at Lincoln against the Railsplitters.
