Colorguard and Winterguard

Colorguard is a visual art form, which coordinates movement and equipment to music. Emphasis is on the visual interpretation of music. The colorguard performs as part of the “Normal West Marching Band” throughout the fall season. They have been recognized throughout the state and the midwest as an outstanding group, and in 1996 were recognized as the Class 4A “Best Colorguard” at the State Championships.

This group performs as an independent unit throughout the winter/spring. They compete on the Midwest Colorguard Circuit, as well as on the Winterguard International Circuit. They have been a finalist in regional competitions, and have traveled to Wisconsin, Indiana, Tennessee, Arizona and Ohio to compete.

See the Midwest Color Guard Circuit webpage for results.
