Lady Iron came out
strong again tonight as they defeated Bloomington 2-0. After 6
scoreless innings, Lady Iron smashed a 2-run homer over the fence in
the top of the 7th, and finished off Bloomington in the bottom half
with a perfectly pitched game. There were rumors that the
pitcher, who hit the game-winning HR and got the 2 RBI's, had just made a
deal with her dad not more than 24 hrs earlier, that if she pitched a
perfect game and hit an HR in the same game, that he would get her a
new car.
We also hear that she has her eye on a:
Turbo 911 Porsche.

Lady Iron from pounding out some hits today against conference team

| Prom Day and a conference game!
Lady Iron was determined to take both wins so they could skip the
bus ride home to prepare for the big night (coach's deal).
It just goes to show, there is life after softball. Success was theirs as they shutout Champaign
Central in the opener and won in the nightcap too. Another big
success as they all arrived for prom pictures on time, looking more
beautiful than ever with their hair up (and not in a ponytail),
nails polished, and bedazzling gowns, ready for the ball (no pun
intended)... |
| As strong as ever, Lady Iron pounded
out 13 hits against conference opponent Decatur MacArthur, pitched a
