Stotler's, Franklin's combined hits clinch NCHS softball win

Lindsay Stotler (4-0) and Bailey Franklin combined on a three-hitter to spark the Normal Community High School softball team to a 4-2 home win over Decatur MacArthur on Tuesday.  Stotler struck out 11 in four innings while Franklin fanned four in three innings to help NCHS improve to 19-0 overall and 9-0 in the Big 12 Conference. MacArthur fell to 2-21 and 0-10.  Kimmy Hassel of NCHS tripled in the first and scored on a single by Dani Bentley, who finished with two hits as did Hassel.  Jessi Smith of NCHS walked in the third and scored on a double by Lisa White. White scored on a double by Kaity Crane. The Ironmen watched Hassel score from third on a double steal begun by Smith in the fifth.
