NCHS softball sweeps Centennial to remain undefeated

The combination of Megan Nonnemacher, Bailey Franklin and Lindsay Stotler in the pitcher’s circle was nearly unhittable for Champaign Centennial in Big 12 Conference doubleheader sweep for the Normal Community High School softball team on Saturday.  Molly Byrne (5-7) struck out eight while pitching a two-hitter.  NCHS won the first game, 14-1, and the nightcap, 19-0.

Centennial was only able to muster three hits on the day, one of which was a homerun from Erika Reid in the top of the second inning of game one.
Normal Community senior Courtney Sharp had three hits in the first game including a double and a triple. She also drove in two runs. Kaity Crane had a pair of hits, one of which was a double, drove in four runs and scored two in the second game for the Ironmen (18-0, 8-0 Big 12).
