Thursday, May 1, 2008

Megan Nonnemacher and Bailey Franklin combined for a four-hitter as the Ironmen remained perfect on the season with a Big 12 win over the host Generals 7-0 on Thursday.  NCHS (16-0, 7-0) broke out for six runs in the second inning to put the contest away early. Courtney Sharp had two hits and an RBI while Jesse Smith and Shayla Hoenes each doubled and drove in two runs to spark the Ironmen offense.

Nonnemacher went the first three innings, surrendering four hits while striking out seven without a walk. Franklin fired four perfect innings, fanning three and walking none.  “We got production from people other than our regulars,” said NCHS coach Bob Grimes. “Courtney and Shayla stepped up at the plate while Bailey had a real nice night in the circle.”
