NCHS softball handles Decatur MacArthur 19-1

Dani Bentley led a 14-hit attack with a home run and four runs batted in for Normal Community in a five-inning Big 12 19-1 win over host Decatur MacArthur on Thursday. “They have a freshman pitcher who’s just learning,” said NCHS Bob Grimes whose team improved to 8-0 overall and 2-0 in the Big 12. “We have an experienced team. It was kind of rough on [their pitcher].”  The Ironmen starters scored 14 runs in the first two innings. Shayla Hoenes had three hits, including a double, and three RBI. She also scored three runs.
