Bentley leads NCHS softball past U High

Danielle Bentley was 4
for 4 with a home run and drove in two runs as Normal Community
High School downed University High, 6-3, in a nonconference
softball game Friday at Fairview Park in Normal.
Kimmy Hassel also had four hits, including a double, and drove
in a run for NCHS (5-0). Lisa White added two RBI, while
starting pitcher Bailey Franklin (1-0) picked up the win.
Franklin allowed six hits and three runs (one earned) in 5 1/3
innings. Freshman Lindsay Stotler relieved with the bases loaded
and one out in the sixth and struck out two batters to end the
threat. She also struck out the side in the seventh after
allowing one hit.
Kristin Walker took the loss for U High (3-5).
