Lutes, Megan Nonnemacher lead NCHS softball past Metamora

METAMORA — Katie Lutes’ three-run homer backed the three-hit pitching of Megan Nonnemacher as the Normal Community High School softball team downed Metamora, 4-0, in a nonconference game Wednesday.  Lutes later added a double to finish with two hits and three RBI as NCHS (4-0) made the most of its five hits.  Nonnemacher went the distance to pick up the win, striking out seven while walking only one Metamora (5-6) batter.  “Megan pitched well and we played some great defense behind her,” said NCHS coach Bob Grimes. “We hit the ball better than the number of hits would indicate. Metamora made the plays on some hard hit balls and only struck out four times.”
