NCHS softball shuts out Streator

Katie Lutes had two hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs to lead the Ironmen to a 3-0 victory at Streator. Danielle Bentley also collected a pair of hits while Kristen Baldwin added an RBI. Jessi Smith had a double for the Ironmen.

Sophomore Megan Nonnemacher picked up the win for NCHS (2-0), limiting Streator to just three hits while striking out 11 batters.

Kristin Corcoran (6-3) struck out seven while taking the loss for the Bulldogs (7-3).

“Megan did an outstanding job and the defense played well behind her,” NCHS coach Bob Grimes said. “I was pleased with our overall performance.”
