Lutes, White lead NCHS softball past Lincoln

Katie Lutes and Lisa White each had two hits and one RBI to pace Normal Community High School to a 3-2 nonconference softball victory at Lincoln on Wednesday.  NCHS (1-0) scored single runs in the second, third and sixth innings. Lincoln scored both its runs in the seventh.  “We started out well,” Ironmen coach Bob Grimes said. “Our defense let us down in the seventh and made it close.”  Megan Nonnemacher pitched 6 1/3 innings and struck out eight to notch the victory.
