MARCHING IRONMEN 
 

Welcome to the Normal Community High School Band! 
 

Band is an outstanding group at Normal Community High School. The students in the band program work hard and are duly rewarded for their efforts, all while having a great time! Approximately 10% of the students at NCHS make the commitment to this nationally recognized organization. Many band students also participate in sports, clubs, student council, and other activities. In addition, some of the school’s top academic achievers are a part of the band program.

2009 Marching Season Overview 
 

Summer Band:

Session 1 Full Band: June 8-11 (1:00 to 9:00 p.m.)

Percussion/Color Guard: July 27-31

Color Guard 8am - 5pm

Percussion 1pm - 9pm

Session 2 Full Band: August 3-7 8:30am - 9:00pm

Aug 7th - Parents Dinner Potluck and Show - 5:30pm
 

Weekday Rehearsals:

Tuesday, August 18: Full Band rehearsal, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. 
 

From August 25 through October 22 the color guard and percussion sections will rehearse on Tuesday nights and the full band will rehearse on Thursday nights. All rehearsals are 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. 
 

Football Games:

The Marching Ironmen will perform at home football games on 9/11, 9/25, 10/2, and 10/16. It is likely we will perform at several playoff games in late October/early November. (Inner City game will be added shortly.)
