Account Migration - Additional Info

June 17th, 2008

Migrating your email account is done in steps.

One step involves creating your account in Windows. Once this is completed, all of your incoming emails will go to your Outlook account and you will begin using Staff Email Outlook from the unit5.org website. NOTE: YOU WILL NEED TO USE YOUR OLD PASSWORD. (The new passwords were not, for various reasons, used during migration. Therefore you need to use the password you had at the beginning of May).

The next step in migrating your email account involves moving your data from Groupwise to Outlook. Once this is completed you will see a folder labeled “Groupwise Folders” in your Outlook email. It is possible that you are able to login to Outlook but not have your Groupwise Folders yet. Be patient, they will be transferred over within a few days.

Status Update

June 6th, 2008

While preparing for the migration, a virus was found that has compromised the network.  While cleaning the infected files, the network will be intermittently inaccessible.  This message will be updated as the cleanup progresses.

Thank you for your patience as we work through this issue.

Server & Account Migrations

June 4th, 2008

New dates will be showing up in the migration calendar over the course of the summer.  Many of the dates showing up first will be server & account migrations.  Following dates will include workstation migrations.  When your building has had it’s server & accounts migrated, you will need to use the appropriate e-mail webaccess link for access at home.  These links are available in the Quick Links on the Unit 5 homepage as well as under the Help section of this blog.

Date Changes

May 2nd, 2008

Some dates have changed in the calendar for the Software Discovery phase due to other school events taking place, so be sure to keep a lookout on where your school is on the calendar to be prepared.  If you notice the scheduled day for your school is a problem, please contact migration@unit5.org.  Thanks!
