6th Grade Keyboarding and Word Processing

keyboardLearning to keyboard is not easy. It takes lots of discipline and patience. Sometimes it takes weeks to 

show improvements. If you look at keyboarding as a skill that can be mastered with lots of class practice, you will do fine. 

 

 

The secret to success is PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE.

Correct technique is the most important skill any beginning keyboard operator can learn. 

Speed and accuracy are all built around good technique.  

6th Grade Computer Instruction (Overview):

  • Use computers responsibly
  • Recognize computer ethics

  • Acquire basic skills in touch keyboarding

  • Demonstrate correct keyboarding posture

  • Become aware of ergonomic health issues/repetitive strain 

  • Learn fast keystroke commands in Microsoft Word

  • Compose at the keyboard

  • Software used:  Typing Time, Microsoft Word 2003

Learn Keyboarding . . .It may be one of the most important skills you learn.
