Hello!  I am Mrs. Dara Deppert McCoy.  I have been teaching elementary children for a total of 18 years.  Currently, I teach kindergarten at Sugar Creek Elementary in Normal, Illinois.  The 2009-2010 school year will be my 7th year teaching kindergarten.    I also taught 4th grade for six years at Colene Hoose in Normal from 1994-2000.  Before 1994 I taught a variety of grade levels from 1st grade to 5th grade in Pekin, Bartonville, Washington, Morton, and East Peoria through full-time employment along with tutoring, subbing, aiding, and student teaching. I graduated from Bradley University, Illinois Central College, and Morton High School.

I am married with three young daughters. We live in Normal.  My husband, Kip McCoy, works 3rd shift at State Farm Corporate. My daughters are Larisa, Elysha, and Kiara.  Larisa will be an 8th grader at Chiddix Junior High where she is involved with the poms squad, FCA (Fellow Christian Athletes), band, choir, drama club, and track.  Elysha, who will be in fourth grade at Grove Elementary, likes swimming, dancing, and playing basketball.  Kiara is our active 4 year old who also enjoys dancing and gymnastics.  She attends Shining Lights Preschool.

I love teaching, learning, singing, dancing, reading, cross-stitch, and spending time with my family.  I am actively involved with my church, Eastview Christian Church, where I co-direct the 3rd through 5th grade choir.
