Parkside is using a language arts computer program to help students work on phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, and vocabulary. These skill areas have been shown to improve reading achievement. The program is titled Lexia Reading.
Families are able to download this
program for use at home, too. The
instructions for this download are linked below.
You should have received your child’s username at conferences.
(Kindergarten through second grade students do not need a password.)
This program is designed to be used often for short amounts of time.
Fifteen minutes per day would be appropriate for home use.
