You are welcome to send special treats to celebrate your
child's birthday at school. Please notify Mrs. Long so we may plan
accordingly. Home Birthday Parties: District policy requires that birthday
invitations for home parties may only be passed out at school if all
children are invited (includes all boys and all girls). If you
plan to only invite selected students, please do not send the
invitations to school. |
 |
Throughout the school year, I will be sending home book order forms.
I have found these books be to an inexpensive way to add to your library
at home. However, please do not feel obligated to purchase any
books. If you do choose to purchase a book(s), please make your
check payable to the book company. |
 |
As a courtesy please call the Unit 5 bus garage at 454-4343 if
your child is not riding the bus. Please let me know if you will
be picking up your child from school so I won't put him/her on the bus.

Attendance/Medical Issues - Regular attendance at school is
very important so that your child can reach the goals established for
him/her. You are encouraged to limit unnecessary absences.
However, children occasionally become ill and need to stay home to
recuperate. It is your responsibility to call the bus garage
(454-4343) and the school office (862-3440) to inform them of the
situation. If your child will need to take any medication, you are
encouraged to work out a schedule so that doses can be administered at
home. However, when necessary, you may bring the medicine in the
original container to the school office. Our school nurse
will administer the medication. Do not send the medication on the
bus! Children must be:
Fever free for 24 hours before returning to school |
 |
During our group time, your child will participate in Show and Tell.
Each day two children will bring something special from home. I
will assign a specific topic such as something that is green or perhaps
something that starts with the letter "B". This is a language
based activity so please discuss the item with your child so
he/she is prepared to describe the item and discuss color, use, etc.
You may want to include a note to help me ask the right questions.
For example, if you send in a picture of your family on vacation, write
a brief note to give me information about the trip to help facilitate
conversation.
The children are assigned a day of the week. Please refer to the
schedule below and limit show and tell to one item per assigned day.

Our students will have a snack each day. Please plan to
help supply snacks for your child's class. At the beginning of the
school year, please send in a snack to share with the class.
Suggestions: crackers, raisins, cookies, pretzels, graham crackers,
whatever you think would be appropriate to share with classmates.
Fresh fruits and/or veggies are welcome but must arrive the day of
snack. Juice is also welcome. In addition, we will need
napkins and dixie cups - these items are used during snack as a
learning/counting activity. No peanut products! |
