Treasurer’s Report/Amy Randazzo & Trish Stites
-Current
balance is approximately $30,313.00
-Motion to
approve. Motion carried.
Principal’s Report/Dr. Mehall
-Quite a
few kids forgetting their pin numbers for lunch at the beginning of the
year.
Dr. Mehall
and lunch workers helping them through the process.
-Total
enrolled as of meeting—968
Makes a difference
in the feeling of the building and in hallways. The seventh grade
is the
largest class
-PTO
donated $1,000 to beautify the south end of the school near bus lanes. Thank you.
-PBIS/Cav Cash redemption day is always Friday during
lunches. Eighth graders are earning
Cav. Cash
to get a trip to Six Flags at the end of the year
-We have
had a wonderful response to the request for building leadership team
volunteers.
At least six parents have volunteered.
-New health
teacher is Maggie Edwards
-New nurse
is Kelly Cole
-New dates for Open Houses:
6th
grade: Monday, September 17
7th,
8th grades: Monday, September
24
-Please
excuse the confusion over flyers that went out regarding an attempted
abduction.
Our information was incorrect.
-SAT 10
testing the week after meeting
-Softball
regular season is done. Girls’ basketball has started
-We have
“Develop Your Potential” tutors for math and reading beginning October 30
-Thank you
to the “best group of registration volunteers we have ever had”.
-Upcoming
activity nights are in early October. Five teachers and three administrators
also
attend, as
well as parent chaperones
-Some
discussion on painting a cavalier on gym wall

Spending Committee
-Plexiglass for approximately 19 trophy cases in the main
hallway will cost $1,000, which was
donated by
PTO. Past-president Sandy Kohlhase will
get that started.
Teacher Representative/Eric Hadden
-Eric is
Kingsley’s web manager, and a 6th grade teacher. He will take care of putting
the minutes
on the website.
-Smart
boards that PTO helped to purchase are greatly appreciated. The interactive
white board
allows teachers and students to manipulate computer with their hands on
the board
President’s Report/Sandy Kohlhase

-At this
point,
and that we
need encourage teachers to fill it out.
Trish Stites seconded with a request
to ask the
teachers to use the form proper, and not just jotted notes. All requests must
benefit the
whole school , not just a specific team or activity.
-Sandy and
Christy discussed the Courtesy Policy which outlines a guide on sending
cards/gifts
to staff
members. The PTO secretary will handle
this matter.
Directory/Mindy Vaugh
-The first
week of October is our target date for directory distribution

some guidelines, budget and the list

discussion about ideas for the teachers

find someone who is willing to make popcorn on Fridays

-Initial
sale was very successful—record and the largest of all middle schools
-We only
make a very small amount off the sales
-Orders
will be in the third or fourth week of Sept.
-A staff
order form is also available
-Justine
initiated some discussion of “what is a cavalier” since it is on all of our
spirit wear
some of the
kids have no idea what it should represent
-Orange
items offered this year were especially popular which was echoed by a few
parents
in
attendance
-Baseball
hats was another suggestion
