Treasurer’s Report/Amy Randazzo
-Current
balance is approximately $16,284.00
-One
outstanding check
-Trish
Stites and Amy Randazzo will serve as co-treasurers. Amy plans to move the paperwork to Quicken
-Some
discussion as to how much information is needed in reports
-Budget was
distributed and discussed with some changes based on number of tournaments and
income that will result
-Amy will
distribute volunteer sheets and spirit wear orders to respective chairs
Principal’s Report/Dr. Mehall
-Lots of
new faculty on board. Amy Max will teach
math on 8-1; Britta Maddox/science 8/2; Lynn A’Hearn/vocal music; Ted
Hahn/technology; Matt Harr/Assistant Principal; Lori Schroeder will be guidance
office administrative assistant; Lisa Heyungs-Adams/associate principal
secretary. Jeri Peters and Linda Williams have retired. Jennifer Stork/speech; Maxine Quakenbush/FCS
and Greg Kocourek/German. Still
needed: new nurse and health teacher. Mrs. Hickman is leaving.
-The school
hosted summer school.
-Close to
500 students have pre-registered
-Open
houses:
6th grade—9/13
7th/8th
grade—9/17
-Smartboards
are in all science and math classrooms now
-New
comfortable chairs for the library courtesy of PTO
-Please
consider helping us on the Building Leadership Team. Meets 1x a month
-CAC
parents are Javelin Lawrence, Eric Hoss, and Patrick Schlehuber
-Need to
set PTO dates around district activities.
Next meeting will be TUESDAY, September 4
-We will be
taking a hard look at our goals for this year:
#1:
At least 83% of all students will meet or exceed on the 2008
Reading ISAT
#2:
At least 88% of all students will meet or exceed on the 2008 Math ISAT
#3:
Utilizing the PBIS program to reduce the number of discipline referrals
that
impact student learning and
achievement by 2%.
SAT testing will be the week of
September 10
-School
pictures will be Thursday, September 30
-New
Superintendent, Dr. Gary Niehaus is getting out in the community, promoting
February 8 referendum

-A special
assembly will be held this year with Baby “J”—motivational and clean hip hop
artist. A Sikh priest will also
visit. All of these are a result of
diversity workshops that Dr. Mehall attended
-We are
also looking at how to make study halls more productive for kids. Less distractions etc.
