PBIS at KJHS

Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports

PBIS is a proactive process for creating safer and more effective schools.  PBIS is based on teaching students expected behaviors and rewarding them when demonstrated.  The expectations at Kingsley fall into four basic categories- Respectful, Responsible, Ready and Safe.  The Kingsley Staff will introduce and explain the KJHS Behavior/Academic Matrix at the beginning of each school year to all students at Kingsley.  The “Matrix Minute” will be used to remind and reinforce appropriate behaviors in all Kingsley environments throughout the year.

Kingsley Reward System

Every school has their own unique ways to reward and reinforce proper behaviors among its students.  KJHS uses Cav Cash to reward students for various achievements.  Kingsley has adopted “Respectful, Responsible, Ready and Safe” as our theme to establish positive behaviors at Kingsley Junior High School.  In order to reinforce these themes, Cav Cash will be issued to the students throughout the year by the entire Kingsley Staff.

Kingsley PBIS initiatives also include:

*    Matrix Minute

*    Incentive Trips

*    Cav Cash Store

*    Cav Cash Fridays

*    “Out of the Blue” Days
