                Dear First Grader and Family,

 My name is Ms. Kennedy and I am so excited to be your 1^st grade teacher this year!  This will be my first year teaching 1^st grade at Colene Hoose Elementary.                 

On Tuesday August 18^th, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. you will be able to take a sneak-peek at our classroom (ROOM 21)!  On this night, you should bring all of your school supplies.  We will be putting our names on all of our supplies at this time.  (If you want to label them before you come, that works too!)  During, “Open House” I would like to ask that you do not take anything off of the shelves or “play”.  I am only asking this so that I can introduce the rules and procedures of the classroom during the first days of school.  I would strongly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity, and there will be a small surprise for our first graders! 

Welcome to first grade!   I know that we will have so much fun learning this year!
