Fundraising
Fundraising
Each year the PTO at Colene Hoose raises over $25,000 that we use to
enhance our students' learning environment in a variety of ways. We try to
keep fund
raising to a minimum since we realize most families feel inundated with
these events. We have tried many different strategies and continue to
evaluate these areas as necessary. The main fund raising events take place
in the fall with the Magazine Drive.
Market Day
Website Link for new users
This year we are going to try Market
Day. If revenue justifies
the effort through the end of the year, it will become a permanent part of
the PTO's fundraising efforts. This occurs once a month. These
two events provide 80% or more of PTO funds each year. While fund raising
is not emphasized during the Carnival it is also a major source of PTO
funds.
The General Mills/Campbell's collection is another way to earn products
and revenue during the year. If you are interested in helping us with fund
raising or have new ideas please share them with us. We are always willing
to explore new ideas and concepts.
Thank you for your support.
Gift Fund
Each year the staff and administration provide us with a list of items
that PTO funds might support. Following are a few of the items we have
supported with these funds: keyboard for the music department, two-way
radios, soccer goals, risers, stage curtains, reading garden, chess club,
playground equipment, rubber tire chips for the playground, library books
and funding to help maintain library materials, computers and software,
mascot mats for the gyms, and supplies for students. Take a look around
the building and classrooms. There is evidence of what PTO dollars support
everywhere.
