Oswald, a town mouse from Deptford, where part of the story takes place, is sick.  What’s wrong with him?  He is close to death and his family is going down with him.  Will anything be able to save him?  Audrey, another town mouse, is called to visit the Starwife, a mean old squirrel.  But, what for?  You may think that this is nothing, but it is hard to put this boo down as all sorts of exciting events keep happening.

To figure out the answer to these questions, read, The Crystal Prison, by Robin Jarvis.  It is book number two out of the Deptford Mouse Trilogy.

I would recommend this book to people who like fantasy and some horror.  In addition, people who like really interesting, fast paced books will also like this book.  If you are younger than sixth grade, you might not understand this story.  I am surprised that this book is the second in a series, because the first book, The Dark Portal, had a good ending.  It may help to read the first book for some of the information, but it is not necessary.

This is a good book about how friends can unexpectedly become friends, and people should help each other out.

Do you like surprise endings?  If so, this book would be a good choice.
