reportcard Unit 5 has begun the process of transitioning to Standards Based Grading in the elementary grades.  Teachers and administrators have been engaged in study and research around Standards Based Grading and many teachers have begun to shift their assessment practices to align to this type of grading and reporting.  In the 2016-2017 school year, teachers will begin to report some grades in the Standards Based Grading format, and we will have full implementation in 2017-2018. There will be opportunities for parents to learn more about this shift in grading and reporting. Fore more information, CLICK HERE.

test This past spring, Illinois students participated in a new state assessment, called the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) exam, in English language arts and math. The PARCC assessment replaces other standardized tests and marks a significant change from these previous assessments. The test lines up with the updated Illinois Learning Standards and measures students’ problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and writing skills, which are abilities all students need to stay on track for college and career readiness after high school. For more information on PARCC,  CLICK HERE .
