Required Concerts & Rehearsals

Monday, November 2nd--Spaghetti Supper at NCWHS   7th and 8th grade only.  Call time for students is 5:50 PM.  7th grade orchestra members should report to room 109, and 8th grade orchestra members to room 110.  Dress for this concert is not black and white, but students should be dressed up.  Concerts are special occasions so look nice.  7th grade performs at 6:30 in the auditorium with 8th grade immediately following.

Tuesday, December 15th--KJHS Orchestra Winter Concert (KJHS Neumann Gym).  6th, 7th, and 8th Grade orchestras will all play.  7th and 8th graders will be wearing black and white, 6th grade can wear any color but dress up (no jeans, T-shirts, or tennis shoes).  Concert time is 6:30, but students need to be at KJHS no later than 6:00 for tuning.  The concert should last approx. 40 minutes.  Students are expected to stay for the entire concert and help move chairs and stands after we are done.  The KJHS chorus concert will begin at 7:30 PM in Neumann Gym.

Monday, February 22nd--Unit Concert Rehearsal at KJHS (Neumann Gym).  Time--5th grade 5:45-6:40 PM, 6th grade 6:45-7:40 PM, 7th & 8th grade 7:45-8:30 PM.

Monday, March 8th--Unit Concert Rehearsal at NCHS.  Same times as February 22nd.

Tuesday, March 9th--Unit Orchestra Concert at NCHS 7:00 PM.  Call time 6:20 PM.  6th grade:  dress nicely, 7th &8th grade:  Black/White.

Friday April 30th, or Saturday May 1st IESA Orchestra Contest  7th and 8th grade only.  Wear black and white.  Family and friends are welcome to attend, but there is a small admission charge from the IESA ($2 adults, $1 senior citizens and children K-8,  children younger than kindergarten are free.).

Tuesday, May 18th--KJHS Orchestra Spring Concert in Neumann Gym.  Chorus--6:30  PM, Orchestra 7:30 PM.

Monday, October 12th--IMEA All District orchestra auditions

Saturday, November 21st--IMEA All District festival and concert at ISU 8:00AM-4:00PM.  Jr. Orchestra concert starts at 2:30PM.

Saturday, February 20th--IGSMA solo/ensemble contest at Parkside Jr. High.
