        1.  Make a chart labeled vertebrates and invertebrates.  List and place a picture of at least five living things under each column.  (Use pp. 40-42 in your science book.)

        2.  Make a venn diagram comparing vertebrates and invertebrates.  The diagram must contain at least five traits.  (Use pp. 41-43 in your science book.)

        3.  Create a mini poster shoing the major groups of vertebrates and invertebrates. (Use p. 41 and p. 43 in your science book.)

**Category #2: Life cycles (Choose ONE)

        1.  Choose an animal. (Do not choose a butterfly or frog).  Draw a diagram of its life cycle.  (Use examples on pp. 44, 45, and 47 in your science book as your guide.)

        2.  Make an oral presentation to the class describing the life cycle of an animal.  Use visual aids.

        3.  Write a poem that tells the entire life cycle of an animal.

**Category #3: Adaptations (Choose ONE)

        1.  Determine five traits that you have inherited from your parents.  Share these five traits with the class.

        2.Write a fiction story explaining how a certain animal got its adaptation.  Be sure to have a beginning, middle, and end to your story.  (Remember the story of the Elephant’s Child?)

        3.  Find a website that you can share with the class that explains an animal’s adaptation.  You need to be able to maneuver around the website by yourself as you share the information with the class.
