Task

Working in groups of four research the Middle Ages.  Each member of your group is responsible for researching their job.  The choices are Doctor, Chef, People, and Torture Expert.

Chef-Chefs in the middle ages had major responsibility. Not only did they have to cook all the food, but they had to tend the fire which had to be blazing to cook the meat, preserve the food during the winter, and taste the food for poison so that the king would not get sick. Your task as a medieval cook, is to find the recipes to six dishes and form a recipe book. You must also draw a model of how the table would be set up at a medieval feast.

People-Your task as the towns watchman is to write a book on the importance of each town member.  Every person in the town was depended on to help improve life in the middle ages.  The book will include their importance, what they did, and an interesting fact.  There should be a sketch and paragraph on each person.  The following people should be included: King, Knight, Bishops, Servants, Merchants and Minstrels.

Torture Expert-Write a paragraph about the following three types of torture: the wheel, crucifixion, and the garotte. Draw a picture of each one with detail and color. Then make up your own torture device. Draw a picture of it and write a one page paper about it.
