Architectural Workshop #4 Presentation - October 25,
2007
The presentation from the fourth architectural workshop
meeting focuses upon results of the planning process
(a series of input gathering meetings with community
members, elementary and secondary level educators, district
administrators, and representatives of the Board of
Education) and projected budgets. This information was
presented at a special meeting of the Unit 5 Board of
Education on October 25, 2007.
Following the presentation of these informational items,
workshop participants engaged in small group conversations
with Board of Education members. These input gathering
sessions provided workshop participants with the opportunity
to share thoughts regarding facilities findings, potential
budgets, and the workshop process with the Board of
Education.

Unit 5 PMA Financial Projections - October 10, 2007
This presentation utilizes the PMA Financial Planning
Program to project Unit 5's future financial status.
Financial data and assumptions provided by the district
were used to create these projections.
The "base model" projects the district's financial status
without the impact of projected operating costs associated
with the construction of new schools. Slides 2-4 provide
an overview of the data and assumptions that shape the
"base model" (slide 5).
Subsequent projections illustrate district financial
status, inclusive of the projected operating costs associated
with the construction of new schools. Slide 6 describes
the "new school operating cost assumptions" that inform
the financial projections provided throughout the remainder
of the presentation. The impact of the new school operating
cost assumptions upon the "base model" is demonstrated
in slide 7. The relative impacts of educational fund
tax rate increases or a working cash bond sale upon
the district's projected financial status is modeled
in slides 8-11.
