Why won't my form submit? It keeps telling me there
is an error with my application!
Most commonly this is caused by an error on the
form. You may have not filled in a required field,
or maybe you formatted a phone number or social security
number incorrectly. Please recheck your form
completely and try submitting again. If you still
cannot submit it, feel free to print off a copy and send
it in to us via the postal system.
Remember, most fields on the application are
required!
form submitted normally, but I have yet to receive an
Email telling me that Unit 5 received it. Why is that and
what should I do?
The email address you entered may have been entered
incorrectly, there may have been a server problem on either
end preventing the email from being sent or received, or we
did not get your application. To be sure, it is
recommended that you go ahead and print off a copy of the
application you submitted and send it in via the postal
system.
Why is there so many questions? I am not used to
seeing such a large application form online.
True, this is a large application form, at least by
some internet standards. However, this is the same
document that you would fill out for us should you visit
our offices or print a copy and send it in. The
more information we have initially, the faster the
process goes when considering you for any position
within Unit 5.
Is it safe for me to fill out information online, especially
items like my social security number?
As with any electronically submitted document or form
over the internet, there is always a certain level of
risk. We cannot guarantee that someone, somewhere,
is not trying to intercept and read your application.
However, the likely hood of that is minimal, as with any
other internet activity, and we have a secure server
system to ensure that no one may view your submission
that should not.
If you are truly concerned about the potential of
someone getting your personal information that should
not, we still encourage you to fill out the form by hand
and send it to our office via the postal system.
Who gets this application once I submit it?
Your online application form currently is submitted
directly to the HR department via Email. It is
then transferred, barring any problems, to paper and
place on file for one year. In the near future,
the HR department will be changing its process to a more
automated database system.
How long will you keep my application?
Two years.
I made a mistake on my application on accident and
submitted it! What do I do?
Please contact the HR department as soon as possible
and let them know what mistake was made to your
submission. You can call the school district at
309-452-4476 and request to speak to one of the HR
department members.
Can I list more than one job I am interested in?
Sure. We will take every effort to consider
your application for every position you are qualified
for while it is on file with us. However, if there
are several positions that suite you, feel free to list
them.
Will I be considered for other jobs?
Absolutely. The Human Resources department for
Unit 5 will take every step possible to ensure that your
application is reviewed for all job openings you are
qualified for. Your Job preferences are considered
first, of course.
What do you mean when it says hold down Control to make
multiple selections? I have several certifications and
I want to make sure I list them all.
You may make multiple selections in a pull down menu
on the application by holding down the Control key on
your keyboard. On PC's, this is the key marked
"Ctrl". When you have made all the selections
appropriate, just release the key and move on in the
application.
If I have a question not listed here, how do I get it
answered?
Feel free to call the Unit District No. Five offices
during regular business hours and we would be glad to
answer any question you may have. If a question is
asked often enough, we add it to this document as
relevant. The phone number is 309-452-4476.
