How do I apply for a certified employment with Unit
5?
The best way to apply is to complete the on-line
application.
Will all my Certified Staff experience be counted?
Do you hire people with as much experience as I have?
Credit will be granted at the rate of one year
for each of the 1st 5 years, and one year for each
two years for the next six years. The highest a
person can enter the system is at step nine.
What is a credential file?
A credentials file is typically held by a university
and contains letters of recommendation prepared
by instructors and previous employers. Letters of
recommendation can be submitted in place of a credentials
file.
Will you respond to my application and/or interview?
You will receive and e-mail to confirm your
application. If selected for an interview, applicants
will be notified by phone of the time and date.
If an applicant is not selected for an interview,
the application will be retained for two years for
any future positions. Once an applicant has been
interviewed he or she will be notified by phone
if chosen to fill the position and by mail, if not.
How can I best prepare for an interview and/or job
with Unit 5?
Make sure that your file in the Unit Office
best represents you and your teaching philosophy
and contains all requested information. Since interviews
are typically brief, be prepared with concise, well
thought out responses.
