Any number times 1 is ANY NUMBER! That's right ~ whenever you multiply by 1, the answer is the other number. When you multiply by 1, you are saying that you have 1 group of something. Look at the array below:
This is one row of books. Let pretend that Sara has one book shelf. On that book shelf she has four books. How many books does Sara have? The multiplication problem would be 1 x 4 = 4 The array shows one group of 4, for a total of 4 books
