GRADING

Kindergarten - 2nd grade

Explanation of grades:

3 Student followed all guidelines/no room for improvement

2  Student followed most of the guidelines/little room for improvement

1 Student did not follow any guidelines/much room for improvement

Students' grades are also based on effort as well as craftsmanship and overall neatness.

3rd- 5th grade

Students at the 3rd to 5th grade level are graded on a points system.  Any project that takes 2 or more class periods to complete are graded with a rubric based on the guidelines for that project.

I am implementing a new rubric.  It has the same components of the old one but is a little more self-explanatory and allows for students to see what each of the points on the scale means, as well as parents.
