So what's an e-book?

Google "e-book" and you'll get many definitions, but simplest is usually best.

An e-book is a book published in electronic form.

• Term includes both books originally published in print and those originally created in electronic format.

• Term is most often applied to electronic books read on a computer or handheld device but a broader definition includes books that are

  • Read using a LeapPad, eBookwise, or other reading device

  • listened to via CD or cassette player, mp3 player, or iPod

  • viewed via VCR, DVD player, or streaming video
