http://epa.gov – This is official site of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Near the top of the page under the green bar entitled “Quick Finder,” choose Climate Change and you’ll find information about science, greenhouse gasses, health and environmental effects, U.S. policy about the environment, and a list of things you can do to create change. http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/kids/ is the “kids’ version” of this same site.
http://www.time.com/time/2001/globalwarming/house.html -- This site, by Time, Inc., lets you click on the parts of a house to see things your family can do to combat global warming right in your own home.
http://www.timeforkids.com/TFK/specials/articles/0,6709,1113542,00.html – This is the Time for Kids site all about Global Warming.
http://globalwarmingkids.net/ -- This site is a portal that will take you to loads of Great web sites, games and other resources on global warming for kids.
http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov – This is the official site of the National Climatic Data Center. You’ll find an astonishing amount of information on all kinds of weather and climate data. On the main page, click on the box titled “Paleoclimatology” and then look at the list in the blue box on the left side of the page, and you’ll find “Global Warming.”
http://www.ametsoc.org – This is the official site of the American Meteorological Society. This society has written a statement about Global Warming called New AMS Statement on Climate Change: Climate is Changing; Humans Play a Role. Look for it under “What’s New” or search for it by name using the search box provided.
http://www.ipcc.ch -- The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) looks at scientific, technical and socio- economic information to help people understand climate change, its potential impacts and options for adaptation and mitigation. Click on the box on the left side entitled “User Guide to the IPCC Website” to find specific instructions on how to find the exact information you need.
http://globalwarming.enviroweb.org -- Global Warming: Focus on the Future is the official web version of the exhibit, Global Warming: Understanding the Forecast, which has been touring the U.S. and is currently on display at the Smithsonian Institute. It was developed for the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) as an educational tool for the exhibit. This is an excellent resource for information, and there is even a section of interactive puzzles and activities.
