Skin condition will be watched very closely this year in IESA
wrestling. There have been more cases of skin diseases rising and IESA is
working hard to provide a wrestling environment to reduce occurrences.
Medical professionals are are also aware of the rising number of cases.
How do we combat this?
1. Educating everyone as to what to look for and how to address (see links
below).
2. We all need to take precautions as noted in the parents link below from
Chiddix school nurse, Cheryl Corbitt.
3. Early identification of skin conditions and see a physician immediately.
4. No wrestling in matches or practices without physician permission.
During a weigh-in before matches, wrestlers will be checked for skin conditions.
If a skin condition is found and there is no doctors permission, the wrestler
will NOT be allowed to wrestle.

Ring worm is a common wrestling skin condition and can easily be treated, however it can also be spread very easily. Ring worm is easily noticeable - a circular red circular-type skin irritation.
Any questions, please discuss with one of the wrestling coaches, Cheryl Corbitt, Chiddix School Nurse, or your family physician.
