8TH GRADE PARENTS: After the first of the year, call to schedule a 4-year high school planning session with your student’s CJHS counselor. To make an appointment, contact the counseling office administrative assistant at 888-6847. The best time to schedule a 4-year plan would be during the following times:

• 7:45 or 8:00 (before school)
• *During your child’s 30 minute lunch period and part of the class period prior to or following the lunch hour.
• *During your child’s 30 minute lunch period and 4B study hall if your child is not enrolled in foreign language
• During 8th hour study hall (beginning at 3:00) if your child is not enrolled in Music

During the 30-45 minute session, we will discuss your child’s Career Cruising inventory results, consider possible career choices, compare college requirements and plot a course outline for high school. The high school counseling department encourages students to then enter their 4-year plan results into Career Cruising. The plan can be adjusted as your child moves towards graduation. Four-year plan appointments can be scheduled through April.

*Your child will eat his/her lunch in the counseling office during the meeting.
