Charger Hall of Fame 2006

On Saturday, May 13, 2006, the Chiddix Junior High 8th grade band participated in the Music in the Parks band competition in Chicago, IL. They received first place in Class AA junior high division. They were also named the Grand Champion of all junior high bands that day. Of all the bands that competed that day, High School and Junior High, Chiddix Junior High School was the second highest place of the day. Only one High School placed higher.

Congratulations to Charger Wil Ward for earning the Scholar Attitude Award from the Illinois Elementary School Association. Wil is one of only three Unit 5 students to win this award in its nine-year history. Wil is featured in an article in The Pantagraph on May 12. Awesome accomplishment, Wil!

Money collected to aid Hurricane Katrina victims was used to assemble 108 health kits Friday, September 9th. After school, they were picked up by UMCOR volunteers and delivered to Louisiana. Before Chargers got to school Monday, there were 108 victims (that’s about the same as two 6th grade teams) that were better off because of the students at this school. Click here for more photos.
