Parent/Guardian Guide to Success at Chiddix

1. Communicate with your child’s team of teachers. Know your "Team’s" conference period. Talk with the Team as often as necessary. (452-1191)

2. Communicate with your child’s counselor – Ms. Brooke Fairchild (A-K) or Ms. Susan Mastronardi (L-Z). (888-6847)
 
3. Check the Chiddix Assignment Notebook each day. If necessary, ask the teachers to initial the assignment notebook each day or week.

4. Check grade sheets for each class each day.

5. Contact your counselor regarding Academic Reports or to arrange for your child to attend The Homework Lab after school. (888-6847)

6. Connect with at least one other student and parent on your child’s team. Use this contact for clarification regarding homework, assignments, field trips, and projects.

7. Each student should spend at least 45 minutes Sunday through Thursday in quiet study. If there isn’t homework, the student should read or write. NO TV, RADIO, MUSIC, PHONE CALLS, OR PLAYING ON THE COMPUTER DURING STUDY TIME. This is a lifetime habit that parents and teachers must continually reinforce.

8. Support the school. Work in a positive manner with teachers, counselors, and administrators.
