Hey, Chargers, want to be a movie star? YOU can star in the next PBIS movie if your name is drawn from the box-o-fame in the cafeteria. Add your Chargers Choice entries soon. Two names will be drawn on 11/25.

Fuel Up to Play Survey
All students will have the opportunity to complete an anonymous survey during first hour on Wednesday, 11/19.  The survey is an important part of a pilot program offered by the National Dairy Council, in partnership with the National Football League.  Chiddix has been selected as one of the schools to be part of a pilot test.  Fuel Up to Play is about motivating students to make healthier lifestyle choices for themselves, their school and their peers.  Although each survey will have a district ID number, it will not be possible to tie specific survey information back to individual students.  Please contact jdhoog@stldairycouncil.org  if you have any questions

An impressive number of students made the First Quarter Honor Roll.
Congratulations, Chargers, and great job flexing those "mental muscles!"
Attention, Chargers: We need your help in supporting Austin Carter, one of our sixth grade students here at CJHS. In August, Austin was diagnosed with bone cancer. This is the same type of cancer that his sister, Haley, a fifth grader at Grove Elementary was diagnosed with last year.

In order to support both Austin and Haley with their fight against cancer, CJHS is selling magnets, window clings, and bracelets at the school store during lunch hours or in the main office throughout the day. The magnets and window clings are $3.00 each or two for $5.00. The bracelets are $2.50. For additional information about Austin, check out the CJHS website for a caring bridge link about him. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/austincarter. Thanks for all your support.

CJHS Mock Election
Chiddix Jr. High Students participated in a mock election this November.  Students were given the opportunity to register and registered voters were able to cast their votes on November 4th.   The school’s ten academic teams received electoral votes based on population.  The outcome at Chiddix reflected the outcome of the National Election:  Obama received 390  electoral votes and John McCain 148.

Team TITANS Mock Trial
On November 12th, Mr. Porter's 4th hour social studies class held a mock trial of British soldiers for the Boston Massacre. They were fortunate to have the Honorable Judge Knecht, an Appellate Court judge in Springfield, preside over the trial. Thank you, Judge Knecht.
On November 11th at the eleventh hour, all of Chiddix took a few moments to reflect on Veteran's Day. Mr. Shackley shared the history of this important day, read a reflection on the sacrifices veterans have made for our country, and led a moment of silence following the playing of "Taps."
