This course is a compressed (8 week) version of a high school chemistry course. Attendance is very important for your success. Plan to spend at least one hour per day studying for this course. Tests/ quizzes will be given after every unit. Additional assignments will be given: but not taken for grades. The assignments are additional work for you to do to understand the concepts we discuss in class. A specific textbook is not required for this course. Any general chemistry book will be helpful…but not required. I will provide you with many printed pages of notes and worksheets. You will be required to purchase an Instructional Support CD for $10.
The course will move at a rapid pace. I can’t give exact dates on which topics will be covered. I will update on a daily basis (via the web) the calendar to let you know what was covered in class.
Please feel free to approach me, and let me know how I can improve this course for you!
* I reserve the right to grade assignments. I count 7 highest quiz scores in computing your grade.
