What is covered in Parenting? This course helps to prepare you for the most important job you will ever do... parenting. Parenting begins with learning about the many considerations involved before having children and ends with how to care for a newborn. Family planning topics such as contraception, fertilization, infertility, and genetic considerations are investigated. How to help a baby develop properly during pregnancy through good nutrition, exercise and healthy living are also explored. |
Students will have the opportunity to
try on an empathy belly, which simulates the weight gain during pregnancy.
Baby Think it Over Infant Simulators are also used to help students
understand the commitment involved in caring for a newborn.
Activities have also been developed to help students understand the
decisions parents must make to prepare for the baby's arrival along with
the emotional and financial costs involved in caring for an infant.
