    Monday, Oct. 17th - "Captain America" - Wear red, white and blue!
    Tuesday, Oct. 18th - "Disney Day" - Dress as a Disney movie character!
    Wednesday, Oct. 19th - "Wild-Wild-Western" - Dress as cowboy or a cowgirl!
    Thursday, Oct. 20th - "Sports/Action" - Wear your favorite sports jersey or sports gear!
    Friday, Oct. 21st - "Remember the Titans" - Community Football fame tonight! Wear orange, black, NCHS, or Benjamin spirit wear!

  • Parent/Teacher Conferences with Area Teachers and Specialists

    Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held from 3:00-6:00 pm on Wednesday, November 16th and Thursday, November 17th.  If you would like to schedule a Parent/Teacher Conference with on of the area teachers (Art, IMC, Music, PE, Speech, LBS1, & ELL), please contact those teachers individually to set up a time to meet.

  • The Book Fair was a Great Success!
    Thank you to everyone who helped to make our annual fall book fair sucessful. I greatly appreciate all of the volunteers who helped to run the cash registers, straighten books, and help our littlest bears figure out what they could buy with the money they had. Thank you to all families who were able to purchase books to stock your book shelves at home. We will bring $2,300.00 back to our library to help purchase new titles for our shelves. If your student is waiting for a book to be delivered please know that as soon as it arrives I will bring it to his or her classroom. If you have any book fair questions, please email Mrs. Mroz.

  • Chess Club
    All students kindergarten through 5th grade are welcome! Chess Club will be limited to 60 students. If you are interested in joining the Benjamin Chess Club, please attend this MANDATORY informational meeting where you will meet the coordinators, pay the $50 application/membership fee, and fill out the required paperwork. If you are unable to attend the October 12th meeting, please submit the required fee and paperwork BEFORE the date of the meeting to the Benjamin school office. Click here to view the chess flier.   • Picture Re-takes

    Picture re-takes will be done on the morning of Tuesday, November 1st.  If your child was absent, please plan for them to have their picture taken that day. If your child had their picture taken, and you are interested in re-takes, please send the picture packet back to school with your child that day.  

    Class composite pictures will be sent home a few weeks after the picture re-take day.  Yearbooks will be sold later this winter and will be delivered in May.

  • Noon Hour Supervisors Needed

    We are in need of several noon hour supervisors.  This is a paid position, and the hours are from 11:05-1:05 each day.  Noon hour supervisors help supervise students in the cafeteria and at recess.  If you are interested in helping in this way at our school, please contact Mrs. Bennington at (309)557-4410 or at benninmm@myunit5.org.  Thank you!

  • New Lunch Times for 2016-17

    We have adjusted our lunch/recess times slightly to accommodate the earlier start time for elementary schools.  Please keep this in mind when visiting your student(s) for lunch/recess.

    K & 4th Grades - 11:10-12:00

    1st & 3rd Grades - 11:40-12:30

    2nd & 5th Grades - 12:10-1:00
