  • Business Bears Sale
    Our entrepreneurial group, Business Bears, will be selling a variety of merchandise on Friday, January 23rd, in the lobby from 8:25-8:40 A.M. These students have been innovative by creating products, advertising for them, and making multiple items for the sale. Students and staff may bring money on January 23rd to purchase these items.  Items run anywhere from $0.25-$7.00.  Please keep in mind that while students have made multiple products, this is our first time to do this, and quantities may be limited.  We may run out of some items.  We appreciate your understanding of this.  Students may view products in the trophy cases in the lobby.  Posters advertising the various items are also available in the lobby.
    We are very proud of our Business Bears, and we look forward to this special event!

  • Young Authors
    Our Benjamin students have been invited to participate in Young Authors. The purpose of Young Authors is to encourage and recognize student authorship. If your child is participating, books are due on Thursday, February 5th. No late books will be accepted. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Lee or Mrs. Mroz.

  • Save the Dates
    We are excited to share some great opportunities for you to spend time with our Benjamin Community and support our school. February 26th we will be hosting an Art Show at Benjamin, March 13th  we will be hosting our annual school carnival from 5-8 and on April 20th we will be hosting a book fair at Barnes and Noble. More information will follow for all these events. We hope to see you and your family.

  • Box Tops Rally
    We are currently having our winter Box Top rally!  Please turn in box tops by February 24th for them to be counted towards the rally.  Our goal is to raise $1300 as our fall rally was a bit short.  As always, box tops need to be trimmed and made sure to fall within the expiration date.  If you have time, any help towards this end is appreciated.  If you don't have time, no problem ~ we have volunteers who can do this for you!  We will celebrate our success in turning in box tops by having an extra recess for each classroom in the spring.  If you miss the turn in date, don't fret - box tops can be turned in anytime! Thanks so much!

  • 2015-16 Kindergarten Registration
     
    Kindergarten Registration will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, for the 2015-16 school year.  Parents and future kindergartners should come to Benjamin at either 9:30 A.M. or 1:30 P.M.  There will be a presentation at the beginning of both sessions, so please arrive promptly at the start time of the session you choose.  There will also be time to complete pre-registration forms.  Incoming kindergartners will meet the teachers and see the kindergarten commons.  They will be given a brief assessment.  At the end, they will be brought back to join their parents.  At this time, they will also be offered a special snack and a milk. We would also like to invite you to stop by the library with your student at the end of your meeting, we are hosting a book fair for new kindergarten families. 
     
    What  Should You Bring to Kindergarten Registration?
    *Your child's birth certificate (the one with the official stamp, not the one with their footprints)
    *2 documents that show proof of residency
    *If completed, your child's physical and immunization records and eye exam records
     
    The dental exam is not due until May of 2016.

  • Do you plan to volunteer this year?
    Beginning with the 2009-2010 school year, anyone who volunteers at anytime in the Unit 5 school district must undergo a background check. If you are a first time volunteer or you are renewing please take a moment to review the information about the background check on our website. Refer to the Students and Parents tab and click on Volunteering to learn more  about completing the application. Thank you for supporting our school by donating your time!

  • Requesting Gym Use
