Is your child too sick for school?

Here are a few guidelines as to when your child should stay home from school:

  • If your child has a temperature of 100.0 degrees or higher.  Children should be fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of medication) before returning to school.
  • If your child is experiencing episodes of diarrhea and/or vomiting.
  •  If your child’s eye(s) are severely red, burning, itching and/or producing a whitish or yellow discharge.

  •  If your child has an uncontrolled cough.

  •  If your child has been prescribed antibiotics for an illness and has taken less than three doses.

It is always best to consult with your child’s physician for further advice & medical treatment.
