Dear Parents,

Here is the news from 2A for the week of March 15 - 19, 2010.

READING:  This week we are reading China Town. This story is found on pages 252-273 of our reading book. Please read the story together tomorrow night. Skills we will work on this week include: suffixes er and est (example: small, smaller, smallest – our spelling pattern for the week), vocabulary words, comprehension check, sequencing a story, prefixes mis and under, suffixes less and ful, and guided reading groups.

MATH:  We have finished chapter 9. We will start working on Chapter 10 after break.  In this chapter we will study adding and subtracting with money.

CURSIVE: We are ALL finished with cursive letters. This week we begin to write EVERYTHING in cursive!!!!

SOCIAL STUDIES:  We are doing activities related to St. Patrick’s Day. We will learn facts about potatoes and do a potato tasting activity. Decorated potatoes are due today!
