  • Sugar Mama to Sell 5th Graders' Cupcake Design

Recently, our 5th graders participated in a Cupcake Wars project with the help of Susie Tod from Sugar Mama Bakery.  Susie introduced the design process to our students and taught them how to create a basic cupcake.  From there, students worked through the process to create a new flavor of cupcake and write the recipe for it.  After tasting and evaluating their original creations, students made needed changes before the final product was baked.  Finally, a panel of judges determined the winning design.  StrawBEARy Lemonade was selected as the winning flavor designed by Caden Lovins, Sarang Hong, Archer Alcozar, and Maya Corwin from 5L.  Sugar Mama will be selling the winning cupcake at her bakery in Uptown Normal, starting on March 8th and going through the end of the month.  She has also offered to donate 10% of the sales from this flavor back to Benjamin.  Please stop by Sugar Mama to taste the winning flavor and support our 5th grade bakers!
